Tecno Camon 17 Pro Unboxing, Review & Price in Cameroon

It is a few months since Tecno launched the Camon 17 series in Cameroon that included the Tecno Camon 17 Pro.

During that time, we have been using one of the members of that series, the Tecno Camon 17 Pro, and putting it through its paces.

However, before we get to know more about the new Camon, here are out first impressions of the device upon unboxing it:

The Tecno Camon 17 Pro, just like the Camon 15, being the hero of the Camon 17 series, does not compromise where it matters the most: its looks
At just over 130,000 FCFA you expect more for your money and you get it with the Camon 17 Pro. It is easily one of the best-looking budget devices out there.
We are not sure of the materials used for its finishing at the back but it feels great to the touch – soft and looks good. It glints when you shine a light on it without blinding you like a glossy back would do.
There is also a side-mounted fingerprint sensor that is on the power button.
A conspicuous pinhole-style notch is front and center of the display, giving the Camon 17 Pro its “Dot-in” badge of honor.
There is a USB Type-C which pairs with the included 25W charger to deliver faster charging times.
I know that this requires further in-depth exploration but the cameras on this device look to be quite the dish. Both on the front and the back. The back camera is a 64MP + 8MP (wide-angle) + 2MP (bokeh) + 2MP (black and white). The Front: 48MP with Dual Flash.
Obviously, with 500 nits of brightness, the Full HD+ display on the Camon 17 Pro is very bright.
The pairing of dual stereo speakers already looks – and sounds – promising.
Of course, this device has the rare honor of being one of the very first (if not actually the first) high-capacity devices from Tecno with its 256 gigabytes of onboard storage. Running out of space because you are taking advantage of all the 4K time-lapses you are able to do with this device isn’t a concern.
There is a 90Hz refresh rate on the screen to bask in as well.
