Camtel 4G Internet APN Settings 2023: Configure Phone/Modem

Camtel Cameroon has recently made it easy to configure its APN (Access Point Name) for easy internet access for its subscribers.

Camtel Cameroon has recently made it easy to configure its APN (Access Point Name) for easy 4G internet access to its subscribers. 

Camtel remains a dominant force in Cameroon's Internet Market and is responsible for distributing 4G connectivity services to MTN Cameroon, Orange Cameroon, and Yoomee (the latter roams on its network).

This article will describe how to configure your Smartphone or Computer to browse with Camtel Cameroon.

A.  Pre-requisites or Requirements:

1. A 4G capable Smartphone or
2. A 4G capable internet modem or MiFi
3. A preactivated Camtel 4G Data SIM

B. How to configure the Camtel Cameroon APN for 4G Internet

i. For Android Smartphones: 

There are variations, but this is the primary way to set it.

• Tap on the Settings icon
• Next, select More

• Tap on Access Points or Network Settings

• Create a configuration file by tapping on the 3 dots, usually on the left.

•  Fill in Camtel as the account name.
• Next, fill the APN as camtel

• Lastly, tap on the 3 dots to save the profile.

ii. For Routers / Modems on PC/ Computer

There are many different types of modems/ routers used in Cameroon. However, Huawei Modems account for greater than 80 %. 

So in this article, we are going to show you how to configure a Huawei router or MIFI using a computer (Windows PC or Mac)

1. Open your preferred browser ( Edge, Chrome, Firefox, Opera)
2. Go to the address:  192.168.8.1 (or 192.168.1.1 on some models)

 3. Click on Connection Settings and enter your username and Password

4. Click on Profile management

5. Next, Click on New Profile
6. Put Camtel in the Profile name field
7. Put camtel in APN field
8. Select Save
9. Done; enjoy!
